What is GALVALUME?

GALVALUME Steel is carbon steel coated with aluminum-zinc alloy by a hot-dip process. The coating composition is 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon. Silicon is added not to enhance the corrosion performance, but to provide good coating adhesion to the base steel substrate when the product is roll-formed, drawn, or bent during fabrication.

GALVALUME Steel Application

GALVALUME Steel has superior corrosion resistance more than traditional galvanized steel, so it is widely used for:

  • Roofing and siding applications
  • Unexposed automotive parts
  • Appliances
  • Furniture
  • Outdoor cabinetry
  • Computer cases
  • Gutters
