Basically Speaking, there are 4 types of coated steel which are Hot-dip galvanized steel, galvalume steel, Prepainted steel coil Galvanized & Galvalume Steel and other is electronic galvanized steel.
Hot Dip Galvanized Steel and Hot Dip Galvalume Steel coil are also called GI coils and GL coils. If the surface coating with pure zinc metallic layer, it is galvanized steel. If the surface coating is 5% Al-Zn coated layer, and this coating alloy comprises about 5% aluminum mischmetals and balanced zinc, it is hot-dip galfan steel coils. If the surface coating is 55% Al-Zn coated layer, the coating alloy comprises about 55% Al, 1.5% Si and balanced Zinc, it is hot dip galvalume steel coils.
Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Coils–Zinc Coated, the specification is JIS G3302 1998 and ASTM A653M/A924M 1998. Among the JIS G3302 1998, grades are SGCC, SGC340, SGC400, SGC490, SGC570, and SGCH, and SGCD1, SGCD2, SGCD3, SGHC, SGH340, SGH400, SGH490. Among ASTM A653M/A924M, the grades are CS A, CS B, FS A, FS B, SS230, SS255, SS275, SS340, SS550, DDS, EDDS.
Hot Dip Galvalume Steel Coil–55% Al-Zn Coated Steel Coil, the specifications are with JIS G3321 and ASTM A792/A924M. JIS G3321 are grades of SGLCC, SGLC400, SGLC440, SGLC490, SGLC570 and SGLCD. The ASTM A792M and A924M are grades of CSA, CSB and FS series; SS230, SS255, SS275, SS345, and SS550.
Pre-Painted Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel also called PPGI coils and PPGL coils. And also have Pre-painted Hot-Dip Galfan Steel Coils and Pre-painted Hot-Dip Galvalume Steel Coils. There has 2 coated 2 bake system. From the back side of inner side to out side, they are steel substrate, coated layer, surface treatment layer, primer coat and back finish coat; the front side from inner side to outer side are coated layer, surface treatment layer, primer coat, top finish coat and protective film.
Galvanized & Galvalume steel coils main application field are deck, C.Z purlin, ducting, scaffolding, silos, automotive parts, wire cases, computer cases, vending machines, etc.
These prepainted galvanized/galvalume steel coils main application fields are ceiling suspension bars, factory building, PPGI steel roof tiles, roofings, surface panel, rolling door shutter, partitions, electrical appliances and container walls.
