Introduction to Aluzinc Steel Sheets
Aluzinc coated steel sheets have a distinctive smooth, flat, and lustrous star-pattern surface with a silver-white base color. The unique coating structure provides excellent corrosion resistance. These sheets can last up to 25 years under normal use conditions and offer good heat resistance, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 315°C. They also exhibit strong adhesion between the coating and paint layers, along with good processability, allowing for operations like stamping, cutting, and welding. Additionally, they possess excellent surface conductivity.
The coating composition consists of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon by weight. The production process is similar to that of galvanized steel sheets and aluminum-coated sheets, involving continuous hot-dip coating. When both sides of the aluzinc alloy (55%) coated steel sheet are exposed to the same environment, it demonstrates superior corrosion resistance compared to galvanized steel sheets of the same thickness. Besides corrosion resistance, the colored coated products also exhibit excellent adhesion and flexibility.
Classification of Aluzinc Coated Steel Sheets
Aluzinc coated steel sheets can be classified into two types based on performance: G550 and S550.
• G550 Aluzinc Coated Steel Sheets:
• Composition: Primarily 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon.
• Process: Formed by solidification at 600°C, creating a dense quaternary crystal structure.
• Properties: Offers outstanding corrosion resistance and is suitable for high-corrosion environments such as outdoor exposure tests.
• Applications: Widely used in environments requiring high corrosion resistance.
• S550 Aluzinc Coated Steel Sheets:
• Composition: Similar to G550 but optimized for structural applications.
• Properties: High strength and good toughness.
• Applications: Commonly used in building structures, bridges, and automotive manufacturing due to its light weight, fire resistance, and ease of construction.
Comparison Between S550 and G550
